In honor of Black History Month, Williamsburg’s BlackBear Bar and EPM put together “Straight Brooklyn: Chelsea Reject Live” to celebrate the music and arts from the roots of Black Culture, bringing together some of Brooklyn’s creative and musically inclined talent to the stage February 28th, 2015. Appearances from Duck Down Music’s Chelsea Reject plus ATOWNomas & Ness Rhyme, Loaf Muzik, Cife Man, Dope Rebels, with special guests T’nah Apex, Matt Eclectic and R. Legend!

Brooklyn’s own Chelsea RJCT is a female emcee who has opened up for the likes of Iggy Azela, Talib Kweli, Twista, Isaiah Rashad, Mobb Deep, Buckshot, Sean Price, Mick Jenkins and more. Her upcoming mixtape CMPLX has been highly anticipated and is set to release this summer. Check out her opening performance with T’Nah Apex for the Mick Jenkins Tour ft. No Name Gypsy, Kirk Knight, and Joey Bada$$ and at Red Cup Live Sessions ft Nuri Hazzard and Oshun. 

The night featured live performances from Atownomas, Ne ss Rhyme, Loaf Muzik, Cife…Man, Dope Rebels, Matt Eclectic, R. Legend, with Special Guests CJ Fly of Pro Era and T’nah Apex. Each performance offered an exciting and original experience of what Hip-Hop sounds like in Brooklyn, from Atownomas’ and Ness Rhyme’s infamous bounce to Quincy Vidal’s Hip-Rock style.

The night intensified into a cool house party vibe when Chelsea Reject announced “Get on stage if your’e with me!” and the crowd jumped on stage to join Chelsea Reject during her electrifying final performance. BlackBear’s intimate setting and pulsing energy with some of Brooklyn’s Best MC’s made it a successful event.
