Located just 90 minutes north of Manhattan, McKinney & Doyle’s Fine Foods Cafe and The Corner Bakery are nestled in the quaint, New England style village of Pawling. The Pawling stop off the Metro-North lets you off right in front of this place. Recently expanded, it’s no longer a huge wait. Take a trip up there and then head to the Appalachian Trail near by for a quick hike to work off brunch.
WHAT TO GET:
Hard to narrow this down since they use the freshest ingredients from super local farms and make everything from scratch. Our waitress was super cool and was even pretty nice to the crying child and totally made him stop his whining. Try the steak and eggs or one of their omelets. The asparagus one was extra special because of the freshness of the ingredients.
COCKTAIL TO TRY:
PUMPKIN MARTINI – Since it’s freshly made from scratch, they can be slightly different depending who is behind the bar. I like mine a little thicker, but that’s just me.
