We went to Pawling, which is about an little over an hour & a half from our studio. We go there whenever we want to take a short trip out of the city. McKinney & Doyle’s Fine Foods was our first spot, one of our most-favorite brunch spots. Hearty portions made from local, fresh ingredients. They are very well know for the bakery right next door and their pumpkin martini is so yummy, it even inspired these cocktail recipes.
After our delicious brunch, we took a short ride (we could of walked, but we had a car…) and we grabbed some Jack Daniels’ Tennessee Honey for the walk up the Appalachian Trail. This stiff but smooth liquor is great for when you want to sip and not deal with any mixers. It was lovely way to kick off the fall season!
On our way home, we decided to take a little detour into Beacon to stop by Reservoir & Wood where dear friend Erin Murphy has her store. One of her vendors Jill Takahashi was with us on our journey. She makes the MOST adorable little beanies and she also carries our friend, Francisca Pineda‘s Bhava shoes. We got a chance to stop in to The Hop on their last night before they move down the block. They had Greenport Harbor Leaf Pile on tap! They are EVERYWHERE! The Hop had 20% off so we decided to grab a bunch of random things in the fridge. Check out our post HERE on what we picked up from there.
